My painting is a visual narration of the delicate layers and transparency of nature, inspired by the butterfly. The butterfly is a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, and I aim to capture its essence through my art.
I use a technique of layering and transparency to create
depth and form, adapting my painting technique to emphasise the unity of surface. My
composition is a balanced arrangement of shapes, some of which may be distorted for the benefit of the composition. I draw inspiration from the hidden meanings and moral narratives that can be found in the natural world. My work is a form of pure abstraction that requires me to look inwards with a rigorous discipline and to rely entirely on my own instincts and experience of the visual elements to inspire my creative vision.
Through my painting, I hope to evoke a sense of wonder and awe at the beauty and complexity of nature, and to encourage viewers to reflect on the transformative power of change.
