Dhruti Mahajan

Dhruti Mahajan’s (b. 1981, Amalner) works are about being in the present moment, in a state of mindfulness. Searching her own existential reality mindful existence of oneself in this physical reality, experiencing tranquility and peace through meditative art, she tries to communicate the spiritual essence of life to the viewer.

An advocate by profession, Mahajan completed her BFA from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Fine Arts, Pune (2016). She has been awarded the prestigious 128th Bombay Art Society’s ‘His Excellency The Governor of Maharashtra Award and Gold Medal’, Mumbai (2020), 58th Maharashtra State Award (Professional Category), Mumbai (2018), City Award (Akola), Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, Mumbai (2017), 2nd Prize – All India Women Artist Contemporary Art Exhibition-Artscapes, Chandigarh (2016), and 2nd Prize, Late Shri Jayantrao Tilak Award, 29th All India Lokmanya Tilak and V.V. Oak art exhibition, Pune (2016), to name a few. She has exhibited her works in many group shows including Allegory of Space, Lexicon Art Gallery, New Delhi (2022), Mint, My Art White Canvas, Bikaner House, Art Mela, Gallery 105arts, Chandigarh (2022), Every finite is an infinite, Tibetan Pavilion – Auroville, Pondicherry (2022), Aparajita-11, Tilting Art Gallery, Pune (2022) and Elysian, Minimal Stroke Art Gallery, Pune (2022) to name a few. Her works have been published in several publications in India and abroad and are in many private collections. The artist lives and works in Pune.
